Better Cravings

“For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” 1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You’ll stay thirsty- 

Keeping Up Appearances. 

“You Pharisees and teachers are show-offs, and you're in for trouble! You wash the outside of your cups and dishes, while inside there is nothing but greed and selfishness. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of a cup, and then the outside will also be clean. You Pharisees and teachers are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You're like tombs that have been whitewashed. On the outside they are beautiful, but inside they are full of bones and filth. That's what you are like. Outside you look good, but inside you are evil and only pretend to be good.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭25‬-‭28‬ ‭CEV‬‬

Chasing Success. 

“Will you gain anything if you win the whole world but lose your life? Of course not! There is nothing you can give to regain your life.” Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭26‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Settling For Substitutes. 

“Large crowds were walking along with Jesus, when he turned and said: You cannot be my disciple, unless you love me more than you love your father and mother, your wife and children, and your brothers and sisters. You cannot follow me unless you love me more than you love your own life. You cannot be my disciple unless you carry your own cross and follow me.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭CEV‬‬

“Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” “Sir,” they said, “give us that bread every day.” Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭32‬-‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

 

“Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

 

Change What You’re Craving. 

 

“Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.” Acts ‭9‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ 

 

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Acts‬ ‭13‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬
