Forget What You Thought You Knew

“This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “For your sakes I will send an army against Babylon, forcing the Babylonians to flee in those ships they are so proud of. I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. ”Hit it in the Heart”

Ask the right questions. 

The one who lives blamelessly, practices righteousness, and acknowledges the truth in his heart Psalms 15:2

 

Take your meds and talk about it.  

“Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Don’t quit. 

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭36‬ ‭NIV

Depression Doesn’t Define Me

I’m Not Okay

You’re as sick as your secrets and you’ll stay sick staying isolated.‬‬

“When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.”

The ”I” of the Storm

Isaiah 43:3-4 (KJV) 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

 

Not Done Transforming

We keep it simple. (The Gospel is simple)

 

Jesus is enough. (He’s the heart of everything we do) 

 

‬The best is yet to come. (God isn’t done yet)

There’s Room for You Here

There’s room for you here. (God is moving. We are moving. Come get you some!) 

Church isn’t something we do, it’s who we are. (We are the hands and feet of Jesus)  

“Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord's coming is getting closer.” Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭25‬ ‭CEV‬‬

“They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke bread and prayed together. Everyone was amazed by the many miracles and wonders that the apostles worked. All the Lord's followers often met together, and they shared everything they had. They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever was in need. Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, while praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day the Lord added to their group others who were being saved.” Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭42‬-‭47‬ ‭CEV‬‬

We’re All In. (God gave His all, so we give our all) 

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Our Church Has Changed

If we aren’t changing, we aren’t growing. (We love change)‬‬

The Word of God works if you work it. (We Work It)

‬The presence of God changes everything.  (Jesus truly satisfies, and gives us fullness of joy)

Whatever it Takes

The Presence is Found Through Jesus 

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalms 16:11 ESV

To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, Ephesians 3:8 ESV

…in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12 ESV

And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:1-12

His Presence Has to be Priority 

We Must be Persistent… Obstacles are a Guarantee…

We Must be Pushy

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 ESV
